From Daily Wire.com (Dec. 8):
President-elect Donald Trump said during an interview that aired over the weekend that the first executive orders he will sign immediately upon taking office will deal with the border and the economy.
Trump made the remarks about signing “a lot” of executive orders during a Sunday interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker on “Meet The Press.”
“Well, a lot of it will have to do with economics,” he said. “A lot’s going to have to do with energy. A lot’s having to do with the border. We’re going to immediately strengthen up the border and do a real job. And some of the basics.”
Trump said that he is planning on ending birthright citizenship on day one.
Trump said he would do it “if we can, through executive action.”
“I was going to do it through executive action, but then we had to fix COVID first, to be honest with you,” he said. “We have to end it.” [source]
Good! Although, it would be better if the executive orders were put into law so they couldn't be reversed by another executive order, like Biden did.
In that same interview, President Trump said he wouldn't take a salary, like he did in his first term. I like that. I wonder if any future Republican president would forgo a salary? I seriously doubt if a Democrat got into power, they would give up their salary. So, much for President Trump being a dictator since dictators like making lots of money when they are in power.
