Assassinations in America

What do these assassins have in common:

                          Assassin                                     Target                           Ideology of assassin

Guiseppe Zangara FDR Anarchism
Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola Harry Truman Puerto Rican Nationalist Party
Charles Guiteau James Garfield N/A; just crazy
John Wilkes Booth Abe Lincoln Anti-government
Lee Harvey Oswald JFK Marxism
James Earl Ray Martin Luther King N/A; wanted notoriety; racism
John Hinckley Jr. Ronald Reagan N/A; just crazy
Leon Czolgosz William McKinley Anarchism
Sirhan Sirhan Bobby Kennedy Anti-Semitism
Mark David Chapman John Lennon N/A; just crazy

It’s not that they were all men or they all used a gun which is all true. No, the commonalty is that none of these assassins were conservatives.

Now, far-Left bomb-throwers might say Booth and Ray are conservatives. Booth because he was anti-gov’t and Ray because he was a racist.

Well, Booth was from the south during the Civil War and he was against the Union. That’s why I classified him as anti-gov’t. Plus, conservatism wasn’t even an ideology back then. And the Republican party was brand new too.

As for James Earl Ray well anyone can be a racist. That might not be the real motive for the assassination anyway. This murderer had a history of crimes and probably wanted to be infamous.

You can’t say Hinckley Jr. is a conservative. I don’t remember the press ever questioning if he was on the far-Left or not though. I wonder why. Hmmm….
