This Marxist society was pre-revolutionary Russia. It was formed before the Bolshevist Revolution. Here are the four steps they wanted to do to destabilize Russia and overthrow the czar:
- Agitation--passive and active. Passive agitation included strikes, petitions for reforms, refusal to pay taxes, and so on. Active agitation meant riots and uprisings. (Bottom-up?)
- Organization--the formation of a fighting force prepared to bring about a general uprising. (Bottom-up again?)
- Education--the spreading of revolutionary knowledge and ideas, a continuation of the work of the Tchaikovsky Circle. (Inside out?)
- Secularization--the carrying on of systematic work against the Orthodox Church through special channels. (Inside out? Get people to turn away from God and lose their faith.)
This sounds similar to what the Leftist radicals are doing today. Of course, the top-down part is where the Communist Party became the rulers.
